Does anyone remember that horrible framing experience I had with my Poinsettia House Finish?
I was able to cut off the damaged fabric & salvage the piece but I hadn't had the nerve to have it framed again.
Well, I was walking through JoAnn's today & they had pictures on sale....
I found one that I thought looked like it would be the right size for my Poinsettia House Finish -
So I decided to give it a try.
I brought it home & pulled out the photo & added my stitched piece.
Doesn't it look like I had it custom cut just for my stitching!
I am still amazed.
Framed finish with mat for only $7.00
I am thrilled !!!!!!

Here is my latest progress with
I added several felt squares for needles or pins on the inside of the book.
And two pockets for scissors or patterns.
I may put floss rings on the largest felt square....
And here's the back:
I am thinking about adding some flowers to the felt & placing cording around the edge of the
sewing book ....
We will have to decide on that sometime next week
Happy stitching !!!!

I made a little more progress:
The "Sun" at the top of the design opens up to hold needles.
I am still working on the interior.....
The idea for the trees & flowers comes from the March 2012 Issue of
Cross-Stitch & Needlework Magazine
It has some patterns that would be helpful if you are interested in stitching a similar needlebook.
Enjoy your week !!!

I just wanted to show you some new products I found at Walmart.
Here is the first
This is the new packaging for Dentyne gum - without the label of course.
I'm thinking a great container to hold tatting thread .....
And here is the next fabulous find:
Feed the Hungry by purchasing these peppermints & then store your needles in this cute little container -
It's the perfect size for a small stitching bag.
It's a win win situation !
I didn't get much stitching time this week but I did do more work in my yard:
I almost finished cleaning the trellis area - I removed the huge grassy plant that was back by the fence.
And i sprayed weed killer all over the stones in the walkway.
When the weeds die you will see "Dave & Patty" etched in the stones :)
And then I cut back some old autumn ferns & placed them in pots.
You can see the new fronds trying to peak through the old leaves:
And I planted some flowers in my containers:
4 days of intensive yard work is enough for me !!!!!!
my husband bought me some goodies to brighten my week:
He found a fern for my porch:
I absolutely love ferns !!!
And he purchased some stitching magazines & a quilt book he found on sale:
Now that's a Wonderful Gift ;)
Enjoy your weekend
Have fun crossing those X's ....
